The Boldo is a tree of the Monimiáceas family. Originally from South America, it grows in wild and temperate areas of the Andean regions of Chile and Argentina and in the southern highlands of Peru. The fruit of this tree has been eaten, both raw and cooked, since pre-Columbian times. Both its bark and its leaves are used from the plant.
