Propolis is a wax that bees make in spring, its production is 100 to 200 g per honeycomb and per year. Bees collect a series of resinous, gummy and balsamic substances to which they add their own substances, giving rise to propolis. Bees spread small pieces of propolis in the honeycomb to protect themselves from diseases and certain parasites, this is due to the bacteriostatic and bactericidal, fungicidal, anesthetic, anti-inflammatory and healing power of propolis, so propolis is recommended to increase natural resistance of the body in healthy people as a preventive measure.

Propolis manifests these beneficial properties thanks to its richness in essential oils (from 5 to 10%), in pollen (5%), in resin and balsam (from 50 to 55%) and in various organic and mineral materials: organic acids, phenols, aldehydes, coumarins, flavonoids, vitamins and amino acids.

• In the sage extract we find an essential oil rich in thujone, cineole and borneol. Sage is useful for its purifying action in conditions of the respiratory tract.
• Pine essential oil is an expectorant, balsamic and antiseptic for the respiratory tract, therefore useful in bronchitis, pharyngitis, asthma, laryngitis and viral infections such as flu, colds and chronic catarrh.
