Intake mode

User instructions:

1. Remove all components from the plastic bag. Locate the collection card with the barcode on the front.

2. Register the test kit at omegaquant.com/start using the barcode on the collection card. You will NOT receive your results unless you have recorded it.

3. Fill in the information requested on the collection card.

4. Prepare for the finger stick by improving your blood flow: wash your hands with warm water, stand up, and wave your hand next to your body.

5. Clean your fingertip (index, middle, or ring finger) with the alcohol wipe. Let the alcohol dry on its own.

6. Open the blue protective cap on the lancet by twisting it. Place the lancet lightly on your clean fingertip and press down firmly against your finger until a click is heard.

7. Clean the first blood that appears with the gauze.

8. Gently squeeze your finger to collect a drop of blood. It may take 15-30 seconds; be patient.

9. Drop the drop of blood from your finger onto the collection card in the center circle.

10. After collecting the blood stain, apply pressure to the finger with the gauze and bandage the puncture site.

11. Allow the blood stain to dry with the flap open for a few minutes. Fold the flap over the collection card to cover the dried blood stain.

12. Insert the sample collection card into the plastic bag and seal the bag. Put that bag in the pre-stamped mailing envelope and mail it the same day.

13. Dispose of the lancet and other components in the trash.

Precautions

The omega-3 index test requires collecting 1 blood spot in the center circle. Avoid taking omega-3 capsules or eating fish 12 hours before collecting the sample.
