Description
Yerba Mate Special Edition from the Canary Islands.Indication
Canarian Yerba mate, like all Uruguayan mate, is mainly composed of powder with very small and cut leaves, without stems (without a stick). Its flavor is strong and bitter and its texture is almost creamy.
Yerba receives its characteristic intense flavor during the storage time, which is longer than that of traditional Canary Islands yerba.
Canarian Yerba mate is characterized by its pure, finely ground leaf and its intense flavor.
100% natural product without artificial preservatives or other chemicals. For this reason, slight variations in flavor may occasionally occur throughout the year.
Intake mode
Preparation for infusion:
For 1 liter of water you take approx. 12 g of yerba mate and let it rest at 80 degrees for about 5 minutes.
Preparation for mate:
- Filling the Gourd: Fill the gourd approximately two-thirds full with yerba mate. Tilt the pumpkin so that the grass is accumulated on one side, leaving room for the bulb.
- The Head of the Yerba: Before inserting the bulb, cover the mouth of it with the palm of your hand and give small blows to accommodate the yerba at one end. This creates a compact "head" that makes filtration easier.
- Insertion of the Bulb: Insert the bulb into the free space of the gourd, making sure that the filtering end is towards the bottom, at the opposite end to the head of the herb.
- First Priming: Pour hot water (70°C-80°C) into the pumpkin over the head of the herb and wait a few seconds for the leaves to absorb the moisture and soften.
- Start Enjoying: Place the mouth of the bulb in your mouth and, keeping the filter end submerged in the water, suck gently. The first sip may be bitter, but as you progress, the infusion will become smoother and more aromatic.
- The Mate Circulates: After drinking all the liquid, fill the gourd again with hot water and pass the mate to the next person in the circle. Mate is a symbol of friendship and sharing, so you should never say "thank you" when it is passed to you.
